This year’s project
The board of 2009 has chosen Nepal as this year's agenda. The goal is to collect 350 000 kr to the funding of innovating six schools and three preschools in the regions Necha and Pokhariya, south of the country on the border to India.
Nepal is recognized as one of the world’s most underdeveloped countries in relation to social and economic standards. 40% of the population lives in poverty (1 US dollar a day). Today, roughly 83% of children in Nepal have access to school, but less than half of them complete primary school. Only 10% of those who are enrolled in 1.grade reach 10.grade.
You can see price-examples from Nepal below.
10 kr covers a whole year of stationery for one child 200 kr covers all school utensils for a child in an area with on-going conflicts. This includes a school uniform, books, stationery and a bag for school. 1700 kr covers 6 months of tuition for 25 older children without education.
